Building Structure – Internal Classification Model

example of point cloud classification using vercator building structures model

Description

This classification model classifies the structural space-bounding elements of a building (e.g. walls, floor, doors) while placing attached objects (e.g. furniture) or noise onto separate classes. The model is best optimised for scans of internal scenes.

This model is ideal for 3D modelling as it places a lot of objects that would not need modelling into one class, so that they can be easily removed from the relevant structure.

Optimal Scene

Interior of residential or commercial buildings

Optimal Scanner Type

Terrestrial static or mobile laser scan data

Optimal Average Point Spacing

40 mm or closer

Current Model Name

indoor_structures_v3
